It is referred to as Wetterhorn Peak in German which means Weather Peak in English.

This mountain is 2.75 miles (4.4 km) from its Parent Peak - Uncompahgre Peak. It is located northwest of Hinsdale Country and southeast of Ouray Country.

The first ascend to the mountain Peak was by George Barnard, C. Smedley, W. P. Smedley, and D. Utter in 1906. Colorado's Wetterhorn Peak was named for its Swiss counterpart in the Bernese Alps by members of the 1874 Hayden Survey, who noticed the mountain's similar summit pyramid.

The easiest route to this mountain summit is Southeast ridge, exposed scramble, and Class 3/4

The Wetterhorn Peak via Ridge Stock Driveway Trail is a 10.9 kilometer moderately trafficked out-and-back trail located in Lake City, Colorado. It is only recommended for those with a great deal of experience. Besides, It's best used from June until September.
