Mount Princeton is the twentieth-highest summit that dominates the skyline of the Arkansas valley. This peak towers between two large U-shaped glacial valleys in which chalk creek and cottonwood Creek drain into the Arkansas River.

Further, Mount Princeton is easily attainable from its eastern ridge, though it also offers more challenging routes from all slopes.

The name Mount Princeton was used in 1873, and the summit was named by Henry Gannett - a Harvard graduate and chief topographer. Also, this peak was named in honor of Princeton University.
