Further, it was named aptly in 1869 by the first members of the Harvard Mining School class in honor of Harvard University. Interestingly, the mountain is located within the San Isabel National Forest and has a snow-only route of about 14 miles roundtrip. This feature makes it perfect for snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
