Crestone Peak is one of the most spectacular mountains in Colorado. However, this mountain is referred to as The Peak. Moreover, adventurous Climbers found this mountain to be one of the difficult to access fourteeners in Colorado.

Crestone Peak shares its name with the nearby Crestone Needle, another 14er's of the Crestones. Emphatically, the Crestones are clusters of high summits, which comprise the Crestone Peak, Crestone Needle, Humboldt Peak, Columbia Point, and more.

Elevation

The prominent Crestone Peak features a 14,294 ft elevation ( 4,357 m ). Also, it rises 7,000ft ( 2,100m ) above the east side of San Luis Valley.

Again, it has an elevation gain of 1,750m. This feature makes it the highest Peak of the Crestones. By prominence, Crestone Peak is 4,554ft (1,388m).

Mountain Range

Crestone Peak is the second-highest summit in the Sangre de Cristo Range. This range is located in the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness of Rio Grande National Forest.

The Peak trail is a 21.7 kilometer moderately trafficked out and back route type located near Crestone, Colorado. Besides, this mountain trail is called Crestone Peak climbers' Route.
