The Little Bear Peak feature precambrian granite approximately 1.8 billion years old. The Little Bear Peak, alongside its parent peak Blanca Peak and Ellingwood Point, rises almost 7,000 feet above the San Luis Valley to the west and south. Specifically, this peak is significant for being one of the most technically difficult fourteeners to climb. Furthermore, Little Bear Peak is the 44th fourteener in Colorado surging out of the private property in Blanca Basin. The easiest climbing route to the mountain's peak is on the eastern side.
