Mount Lindsey was formerly called the Old Baldy Peak but later changed in 1954 to Mount Lindsey. The name was changed in honor of Malcolm Lindsey - a valuable chaperone for the Juniors of the Colorado Mountain Club in the 1940s. Although the summit and the majority of the southern flank of the mountain are privately held. Furthermore, Mount Lindsey is classified among the Rocky Mountains of North America. This peak is located in the Sangre de Cristo Land Grant. The distance is 10.8 miles towards the north (bearing 358°) of the community of Fort Garland in Costilla County, Colorado, United States. Interestingly, this peak is known to be the 43rd Colorado fourteener.
